When you’re investing in your memories, that's some precious sh*t to handle and you want the person capturing them to be fully invested in you. The more you invest in your story, the more your photographer is going to invest themselves, their time, their talents and their help into your story which is what you want. You want someone to invest in this adventure with you so that it gets told in a way that represents your relationship to the fullest and the way you envisioned. It's been said over and over: you pay for what you get. So I strive to provide an amazing client experience with amazing photography, so you know that your investment is worth it.
My prices are set to reflect that client experience and quality photos that you want & that I can provide. My prices are firm, however flexible payment plans are available, along with custom quotes for travel & other arrangements if needed!
"We had no plan- just a concept; and she ran with it. Alicia was not just a photographer- she was a location scouter, wedding coordinator, driver, and our biggest cheerleader from the start of this journey. She single-handedly pulled together all details about the locations and timing of our day- and was down for absolutely anything as long as we got the day that we dreamed of. As someone who is not comfortable in front of a camera (in fact I’m downright awkward) and with a husband who despises photos- I am in awe of what she was able to capture. She made us feel so comfortable- it was honestly like spending the day with a good friend. We laughed, we hiked, we drank, and we had the BEST time. And now we have the perfect pictures to remember every moment."
Realistically, the longer we’re together the more photos you’ll receive. The minimum is 50 photos/hr, the max well….. the limit does not exist. I don’t put a cap on how many photos you get because honestly I go through all of them anyway, and edit the PRIME ones, which of course I’m going to give to you because I can’t keep these beautiful memories that aren’t even mine for myself.
I don’t give out RAW files/images. This is because part of the experience with me is my editing style. I want part of the reason why you’re hiring me is the effort + art behind taking + editing your photos. In special circumstances, and at an extra cost I will provide RAWs, but only in special circumstances.
I also don't do any extreme retouching. I will not do any altercations to a photo that involve distorting bodies, faces, or the overall "look" of the day. Things like bruises and zits I can take care of!
I did actually! I have a college diploma from a 2 year photography program. And I’m constantly learning at every session wedding, plus always taking more courses in my down time to learn even more + process! I've been photographing people for about 4 years, while doing photography in general for much longer.
So once you fill out the contact form here, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can (its just a one woman show here right now) and send over my pricing guide for whatever kind of package you’re looking for, so you have all the options laid out in front of you. Then we’ll talk a little bit (either over email, you can text me, or if you want we can set up a call) and from there we’ll decide what the best fit is for you both! Once everything is decided, I’ll send over a contract + invoice that can both be signed + paid for right through your email. Once the invoice is sent, your date will be held for you, and then the REALLLLL FUN BEGINS!!! We’ll communicate whichever way is easiest for you, depending on the timing I’ll be sending over a little questionnaire to get to know you both a little better before we actually meet in person, we’ll plan a little more based off of your answers + go from there!!! :) The process is obviously a little different for everyone depending on the circumstances.
Storybook sessions are much more simple, and to the point. Not alot of travel involved, and usually stick to one theme or one spot to explore. Where an adventure session has no limits (other than distance but that can be arranged at extra cost). A storybook session is perfect to spend a couple hours together, appreciating + lovin’ up on each other- like a cute little date, or a small chapter in your story together (hence the name). An adventure session is perfect for that too, but is more. These are geared towards the people who have that sense of exploring + wanderlust in their hearts. They’re perfect for engagements, especially if you’re travelling to the mountains from somewhere else, because you can explore so many of them in one day, all while having beautiful photos to look back on. If you’ve wanted to hike for your photos, adventure sessions are perfect to allow for enough time, + enough sense of adventure to be highlighted in your memories. It includes a lunch (either eat in or take out or packed lunch to bring with us!) whereas storybook sessions do not.
I’ll keep this one short: HECK TO THE MF YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. I’ll go ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE. Custom travel quotes are available!!! Keep in mind travel costs can include gas, airfare, additional days and accommodations if needed,
Living in Calgary with a heart that belongs in the mountains, and a part of me that still lives in Ontario! My main focus is Calgary, Banff, Kananaskis, and surrounding areas. Most of my travels take me to Central + Southern Alberta, sometimes interior BC. However there are a few times a year I make it out to Halton area / Northern Ontario (Muskoka cottage country) for weddings + elopements + to visit family! For extra travel costs, there would be an additional cost on top of your package, but at a flat rate depending on location and time needed! And I handle all the travel needs! You’ll be kept in the loop, but I do all the work!
YES! So when you get your gallery delivered, there is actually a print shop already built into your gallery, to make it super easy + convenient for you! I also give you a 25% off code for the first two months your gallery is delivered, and little surprises throughout time as long as your gallery is open! A lot of my elopement and wedding packages also include some prints or albums, or can be added to your package!
Don't worry I GOTCHUUUU. How? Well first of all I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve definitely been that girl who completely freezes up in front of the camera + looks like her awkward grade 1 photo. Actually I'm still that awkward girl in photos today. So I can relate. Secondly, because of my own experiences in front of the camera, and having the chance to work with so many different people in front of the camera, I’ve learned how to help you relax and be yourselves in front of the camera. The questionnaire helps me get on a more personal level with you, conversations during our time together definitely help, and I’m already weird AF so when you see how weird I am you’ll see that you guys being yourselves is really no big deal. There is absolutely ZERO judgment here. And I will constantly remind you over and over that being yourselves is the best, and the most important thing to remember when having your photos taken. These memories are for you, of you. So why try to be something you’re not?
A tip: be yourselves. Seriously. Its that easy.
If you didn’t see it already, you can head over to my experience page where I talk more about this!! But in short- yes, yes 1000% YES I’m here to help you with anything + everything! Especially location wise- my list of places I’ve explored + wanted to explore is never ending. It’s constantly growing. So I have a whole back pocket of places to recommend!!
For adventure and intimate sessions, I’m with you 100% of the way when it comes to planning! I like making it a collaborative effort, because these photos are for you! But whether you have a perfect vision, or no vision, I’ll be there to help you create it!
For elopements and weddings, whether you’re at the beginning stages of planning or have all the parts you need but your photographer, I’ll be there for you! I’m always helping with suggestions and stories from past experiences from weddings and elopements, and I have a ton of suggestions of other things you might need or didn’t consider! And even if I don’t help a lot with the planning, I have a few resources you can check out that might help you out too!
The biggest factor that decides what is a wedding and what is an elopement is the size (or amount of people), and the experience. The more people, the more it is considered a wedding. The less number of people, it leans closer to an elopement. Traditionally elopements involve zero guests. But because they’ve developed so much over the years, I totally understand why people might want to elope with their closest family / friends. So that’s why I put the cap at 10 people. Upwards of that it’s considered a small wedding. Why does this matter? Because when I’m capturing your day, I capture all elements of it, not just you two. That means the family, friends, and guests that attend. Which is why I offer longer packages for weddings to start out than elopements. Because it requires much more time when you’re focusing on a bigger event around you.
Weddings also tend to follow a much more strict timeline, whereas elopements focus more on activities, experiences, and adventure with a more free-flow kinda style. There is less restrictions when it comes to the planning and capturing and executing an elopement.
"There are literally no words to describe how perfectly you captured our day. We haven't stopped talking about how perfect that day was, and you captured that. We are sooo happy we connected with you, because a massive part of our elopement being so perfect is thanks to you! Thank you for all your help with planning, executing, advice, and for celebrating all day long with us. It's hard to believe we hasn't met before that day because you felt like a long time friend! We are so excited for all the other couples who will get to have you along for their adventures! We could rave endlessly about our experience and our photos."
