I'd rather concentrate on capturing your laughs from inside jokes + making each other smile, than forcing you to stand uncomfortably in a weird position. I want you to feel safe + comfortable showing me who you both are, and how you interact with each other, rather than me forcing you two to hold each other a certain way because it looks good. These moments should be captured as they happen, not staged, and should be made personal to you. 

I'm not here to take some pretty photos and leave. You act more yourself, and will be more comfortable with yourself when you're with friends. And thats what I intend on being. A friend. Some of the best experiences I've had + clients have had have been with people who aren't afraid to be themselves around me, show a little PDA, focus more on why they're there than what they're doing. They have an open mind, + utilize this opportunity to make a new friend in this process.
I won't lie- I'm not the most 'formal', its just not me. So I might say some weird jokes, might play the angel/devil on your shoulder in the spur of the moment, or tell you a lot of stories, because thats just who I am. And if I am who I am, I expect you to be fully you.
 So yes for future reference- I am always down to get a beer.

I do have a soft spot for some tradition, and for nostalgia. But what I love even more is when people take a tradition, and make it their own. I don't live close to my family, so I miss out on a lot of some of my favourite traditions. BUT making my own life in the rockies I've developed and created my own traditions that I absolutely love- because they're unique to me. It breaks my heart when I hear that people didn't get to do the things they wanted to do, because of social norms, or because of what other people wanted. Just because weddings are 'normally' like this and that, doesn't mean yours has to be. Actually, I fully encourage challenging the social norms of the wedding industry. Lets get wild

Your memories should not only be preserved beautifully, but also true to the moment. So your photos are going to look unique to you. I edit to try and make the photo feel like the moment is happening right in front of you. My style preserves natural colours, like the blues in glacier lakes and the trees found i the forests we get to explore. I keep warmer tones to show the warmth felt between you both. But again, this looks different for every couple. Even if you have your photos done in the same location, your photos will look different because you are different people, experiencing different things in different ways. 

Investing in photos is investing in your story, and your adventure. I understand the value of having memories to look back on. It's what makes me so passionate about being a photographer. I fully plan on investing in your story, because I know It's important, and these adventures don't happen more than once. However to help me invest in your story, and capture it the way you want, your investment in me is super important. My prices are firm, reflect the experience I want to provide for you, and provides more than just takin' some photos.
This is one of the most important things to remember, and I can only fully invest in your story if you choose to do the same, put your trust in me, and understand the value that comes out of this experience. 

Being in this industry, and having a passion for photography + the outdoors I've been involved in many different situations where I've taught others, and learned myself. I value everything that I learn on the way, and understand that people might forget certain things in the midst of planning their adventure. So I'm an open book!
